AVA-MC and DAVA are coming together to network and learn more about volunteer engagement from one another. On Wednesday, September 28, 9 am to 12 noon, we will meet in the Discovery Center at the Brookfield Zoo!
After the continental breakfast and networking, we will kick-off our joint meeting with introductions at 9:30 am. Participants will select a Betty Stallings workshop to attend from 10 am to 11:30 am, led by certified Betty Stallings trainers and members of AVA-MC and DAVA: Volunteer Motivation OR Volunteer Recruitment. We reconvene at 11:30 am for closing remarks and announcements.
We hope you will make plans to stay for lunch at one of the Zoo's concession areas to allow for more networking and enjoy the Zoo experience.
Entry to Zoo
· Arrive at the zoo through the South Gate entrance near Riverside–Brookfield High School. Do NOT enter or park in the Northwest Parking Lot.
· IMPORTANT! There is construction on First Avenue and the surrounding area so please plan your travel time accordingly. Click on this link for directions and alternate traffic routes: https://www.czs.org/Brookfield-ZOO/Plan-Your-Visit/Directions-and-Parking
Arrival at South Gate
· When you arrive at the South Gate, give the Gate Attendant your name and tell him/her you are here for the DAVA / AVA-MC Meeting
· You will not be charged for admission or parking.
· As you drive through the South Gate, stay to the right and stop at the second Gate Attendant booth. Tell that Gate Attendant you are here for the DAVA / AVA-MC Meeting in Discovery Center.
· Drive along the Service Road (the long curving road) all the way to the end to Discovery Center. You will end up in the Discovery Center parking lot where you should park.
Entry to Discovery Center
· After parking, walk to the front door of the Discovery Center; the Discovery Center building is directly adjacent to the parking lot to the west.
· Come on in; we will be the Founders Room
